Student Life
During the 2004-05 shool year, the Director of Student Life managed all programs regarding students. These programs include monthly Birthday celebrations, Good Behavior Breakfasts, Spring Formal, Awards ceremony, and much more. The Director of Student Life also served as the disciplinarian, monitoring student discipline and attendance, through the school's data base system, Administrator’s Plus. Ms. Miller has accepted a position with Iberville Parish. We wish her the best of luck.
Student Life Activities
Thanksgiving Luncheon – Thanks to all of the parents for supporting the Thanksgiving Luncheon for the students. It was a wonderful event, filled with elegance and great behavior. The food was awesome and EBRATS would like to thank all of those who donated and volunteered their time and efforts to make this a great success.
Martin Luther King Celebration Community Involvement
The Director of Student Life, along with 10 students and two parent volunteers, set up refreshments and served over 750 guests at the conclusion of the Martin Luther King Ceremony on January 18, 2005. This was a great experience for all of the students involved. The students served spaghetti, hot dogs, and drinks. Special thanks to Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Mungal for all of your help and cooperation during this time. You are truly appreciated.
Monthly Student Newsletter for Parents
At the end of each month, students participate in a birthday party with the Director of Student Life. The students’ names are placed in a drawing for various prizes ranging from balloon bouquets and free dress day passes.
Red Ribbon Week was held October 25 – 29, 2004. Students and staff members participated in activities revolved around a Safe and Drug Free School.
Spring Formal – The Spring Formal is currently in its planning stages. The date has not been scheduled however, fundraisers will begin at the end of January to help defray some of the expenses. The Junior class will be spearheading this event.
Sweetheart Dance – On Friday, February 11, 2005 (7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) escort your sweetheart to a wonderful event filled with lots of red, pink and white decorations. There will be a professional photographer on site to allow your child to take beautiful pictures that help them to remember this night for a long time.
1st Semester Awards Ceremony – The 1st Semester Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Monday, January 31, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Old State Capitol – House Chambers
Quarterly Parent Workshops –
Visual Journal Workshop
This workshop helped parents to get a better understanding of the sketchbook and its importance. Parents participated in a hands-on activity which included making a bowl from clay. I would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Dunaway and Mrs. Knowles for all of your help, support and dedication in presenting this workshop. Special thanks to Mrs. Mungal for providing the refreshments for the parents.
GEE Informative Workshop
This parental workshop introduced to parents of freshmen and sophomore students who were not familiar with high school testing.
Thanks to all of the parents who attended this workshop. They were given very important information regarding the GEE, door prizes were given and Jambalya was served. Thanks to the Jambalya Shoppe for providing EBRATS with a discount on the Jambalya and rolls. Special thanks to Ms. Anderson and Mrs. Jackson for assisting in the preparation of this workshop.
